Terms of Service
Circled is planning software, not financial advice. It computes schedules from the numbers you enter. It does not lend, move money, negotiate with creditors, or promise to reduce your debt.
1. What Circled is
Circled (the "App") is a debt-payoff planner and expense tracker operated from Japan by the individual proprietor behind Circled Money (the "Operator"). The App produces payoff projections, schedules, and insights from data you provide, using assumptions you control (interest rates, payments, budgets).
2. Not financial advice
The App's outputs are mathematical projections, not financial, legal, or tax advice. Actual balances, interest, dates, and fees are determined by your agreements with your card issuers and lenders and may differ from projections. Verify important figures against your statements. For advice about your situation, consult a qualified professional.
3. Your data, your device
Your financial data lives on your device (see the Privacy Policy, which also lists anything the App or this site sends elsewhere). You are responsible for keeping your device and any exported backup files safe. Deleting the App or using "Start over" permanently removes local data.
4. Subscription
The App's full feature set requires a paid subscription after a 7-day free trial. Billing is handled by Apple through your Apple Account: the subscription starts and auto-renews unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and can be cancelled anytime in your Apple Account settings. If the subscription ends, your debt-free date and plan remain visible in view-only mode. Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's policies.
5. Acceptable use
Don't misuse the App: no reverse engineering except as permitted by law, no resale, and no use of the App's outputs to misrepresent financial products to others.
6. Disclaimer and liability
The App is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Operator's total liability for any claim arising from the App is limited to the amount you paid for the App in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including under Japan's Consumer Contract Act.
7. Changes
These terms may be updated as the App evolves; material changes will be announced in the App or on this site with a new effective date. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence remain unaffected. Exclusive jurisdiction: the Tokyo District Court, except where consumer law provides otherwise.
9. Language
These terms are provided in English and Japanese. If the two versions ever conflict, the Japanese version prevails.
